The Semi Hermetic compressor is more efficient than an hermetic compressor especially at lower temperatures. Parts can be repaired or replaced on site without the need to replace the whole compressor. In general the Semi Hermetic is more durable with better compressor life expectancy than an Hermetic system.
The Semi Hermetic compressor is generally utilised where the refrigeration load is higher than that available with an hermetic unit or where a pipe route is such that the hermetic unit would not achieve the desired performance efficiently and reliably.
In general where possible a Semi Hermetic condensing unit should be supplied with the following features;
