Within the Foster business, social responsibility takes many forms and spans international, national and local activities. The needs of others are important principles to Foster. We continue to pursue strong welfare programmes, ethical purchasing initiatives and local supply and support programmes. On a national basis and as market leader we believe it is our responsibility to inform our staff, our customers and our suppliers on all the key issues in our industry and the impact of refrigeration products on the environment.

Foster Refrigerator is committed to trading ethically and recognising the complex nature of this issue, and as such Foster is proud to be a corporate member of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI). As well as adopting the ETI Base Code, corporate members must also sign up to ETI's Principles of Implementation, which set out the approaches to ethical trade that member companies should follow. These require companies to:

• Demonstrate a clear commitment to ethical trade
• Integrate ethical trade into their core business practices
• Drive year-on-year improvements to working conditions
• Support suppliers to improve working conditions, for example through advice and training
• Report openly and accurately about their activities
